peter swanson

Peter Swanson's work is reduction and is fired in a gas kiln. Many of Peter's pots are glazed with glazes made from unusual plant ashes. Ashes used include Wheat Straw, Japanese Knot Weed, recycled Thatch Reeds and Lavender Ash. Each ash gives a different result.
Peter also has a large anagama kiln which he built himself in the grounds of his cottage. He fires with wood in the classic Japanese way of long firings to build wondeful ash glaze and flame blessed pots.
